Designed to be at home in the competition lanes or playing your favorite music, the U Series is the premier “standard suspension” woofer in the Sundown lineup. A double-stacked 9.4-inch wide ferrite magnet system is coupled to a thick top plate. A thick set of shorting rings are used inside the magnets and on the pole cap, smoothing out frequency response while doubling as a heat sink and airflow guide. A custom, substantially thicker aluminum frame was designed specifically for the U Series, equipped with heat dissipation ribs. The U v.2 motor also features an extended pole piece to keep the coil under perfect control under high stress. The coil temperature is kept in check via a high-velocity solid pole / machined pole channels arrangement and a series of 16 direct air-gap vents in the back plate.

    I’ve been around bass-heavy setups for a minute, but these Sundown U Series 12s are in a whole different league. I’ve got two of them wired at 1 ohm on a 3K amp, and with the gain only at 40%, I’m already shaking the whole block—literally had my mom texting me from inside the house asking what the hell I was doing.

    The lows these subs hit are crazy clean and deep. They flex the car without sounding sloppy. I used to run a Skar DDX 12, and while it hit those higher notes well, the U-12s dominate the low end like nothing else. They don’t just sound loud—they feel loud. Window flex, mirror shaking, chest-pounding bass, and I’m not even close to maxed out yet.

    If you’re thinking about stepping up your bass game and want something that’ll turn heads before you even hit the corner—this is it. Sundown, y’all snapped with these.
